It sounds plausible, but I simply don't have the background to verify it. I've also read that the entire OWS concept was taken from Anonymous protests of the Federal Reserve. This video echos those sentiments, but it will take me months to really investigate it for myself. In the meantime, if you have some knowledge on the issue please share or otherwise assist me in separating fact from fiction.

Posting to put a finger on this thread. I am far from expert, but I have several pieces of info to give. Now is not the time as I'm trying to unwind and sleep. The petrodollar is real(ish). There's a lot that goes into the sickness that makes war the most profitable business on earth, next to financing it. WWIII may be in the cards, but as to that I cannot say for certain. I went straight to it to tithe - I tithe 10% of everything I make to where I receive my spiritual nourishment.

The financial inequities of the world have been a part of my life since childhood. My father's sister was a successful financial consultant and accredited journalist. She went to many, many U.N. and World Bank meetings and observed first hand much of the way that international finance is orchestrated from behind the scenes.  She was also a bit of a religious zealot. This zeal led her to doggedly pursue the information that she came across.  It also led her to many faulty conclusions based on certain facts of her experience.

She has passed on. Much of the information that I have gained has been from reading her works. I am not well educated enough to adequately explain the technical jargon, but what I took from it was this. The world has been on a financial bender of dishonesty and manipulation for an extraordinarily long time.

Money is not the master of the masses, but an overseer. A supervisor. The real power still lies with those that move in international circles. Their actions are obfuscated by a certain, intentional, obscurity and a vast amount of technical jargon and doublespeak. Their motivation, like my aunt's, is extremely zealous. Their intention, to me, seems likewise based on faulty conclusions about man's place in the cosmos.

To some of these shadowy figures war is profit, freedom is a commodity, obscurity is strength. Our lives, lives they have never touched personally or perceived as more than a statistic, are to them a means to their ends and nothing more.  There is an insulation between them and the "common" person. They hear us fighting and hollering only dimly and know of it only what they are told by their pernicious peers. Their machine rolls on and they know nothing of the people that they grind under the treads.

Net I am not, yet, a good enough man to proclaim to you what to believe about the topic. I am only good enough to acknowledge my inadequacy and continue to seek accurate information.  There is also much I have no wish to discuss on a public forum. Keep looking, though, and you will find what you seek.

I am confident enough to tell you that global finance is something like a shell game with live grenades. The lives destroyed are secondary to the ultimate goals of power and influence "to make a better world." Every tyrant has claimed that this is their goal.

Conflict = Irrefutable evidence that an asshole is in charge of the situation

If two guys are duking it out on a street corner this is evidence that an asshole is in charge of that situation

If a global superpower is stampeding round the planet, blowing the piss out of everything that gets in their way and blagging the spoils, this is evidence that an asshole is in charge of that situation.

The way I look at it, it's patently obvious that an asshole or (more likely) a cartel of assholes are in charge of the global situation.

In this I entirely agree. There is no unified Them. There are only factions with sympathetic and conflicting goals. Many seem totally delusional to me, but just try telling them that.
