It also occurs to me that we've become a pack of middle aged people griping about shit like this.

We've become the Church of the Subgenius while we weren't paying attention.   :horrormirth:

What's really amazing is that the NEW pills are ALMOST chemically identical to the OLD pills.  One teensy change in the way the molecules are built and/or arranged, and suddenly it's HR Goddamn Puffinstuff, all day long.

The one thing that scares me is, I'll probably get used to this stuff, and then it's back to the same old routine as the old stuff.

And that would be a damn shame.

On the plus side, I only need a half a mg of this stuff, whereas the old stuff took 2 or even 4 mg to make the nut.  And the bad thing about benzos is that after 5 mg, you start ploughing furrows in your brain.

Okay, suddenly this turned into blogging.

:vom:

I'm gonna fuck off for a while, and maybe torment the safety geek.

Change a molecule, suddenly you're looking at a whole new ball of wax, only it's not wax, and it's not a ball, and it's alive.

This shit is wasted on the United Nations.  WASTED, I tell you!  They should hang it up over every military recruiter's door.

What IS that? Besides terrifying?

That is Guernica, Pablo Picasso's take on war, specifically the bombing of a Spanish village by Nazis, during the Spanish civil war (immediately preceding WWII).

It's the best depiction of warfare I've ever seen (if you look at it while you have lice and "concert ears", you pretty much get the full effect), and it is absolutely wasted in its current place.

It's fucking gruesome. I'm looking at this tiny 8" depiction on a screen and it's freaking me right the fuck out. I can't even imagine what it's like in person; I would probably shit myself and then curl up in a ball waiting to die.

I have four papers on neuroplasticity and melodic intonation therapy in treatment of Broca's aphasia that I need to turn into one cited five-page explanation sometime before six o clock.

I super don't even fucking care anynore.

And it's better than reality TV or reality work or damn near anything other than reality sex or maybe reality Palak chicken.

People don't really remember what a fucking GENIUS.  He didn't even SEE the bombing...This was done based off of a survivor's account.

As far as the effect, it's on a huge tapestry at the UN.  You can see that there haven't been any wars since.

Bastards just walk right by it in their proper little gray suits and gray corpse-accountant minds.

You know, it's really hard to articulate how much I hate the very existence of the UN.  Not for any teabagger conspiracy bullshit reasons, but because it's WORSE THAN USELESS.  It's something leaders can point to, to deflect blame from their bloodthirsty ambitions...While the UN beats the ever-loving shit out of the peasants at zero cost to the leader.

Example:  Slapping sanctions on a "rogue nation".  You think that means El Presidente is gonna starve?  Fuck no, he's still eating filet mignon off of gold plates while the peasants learn to eat dirt.

Prior to 1945, when there was a problem, bastards in pricey uniforms got strung up.  Now if that's done at all (Saddam), it's done as cheap theater, reality TV snuff.  Usually, though, the common folk take it in the shorts and everyone pretends that it made a BIG DIFFERENCE, while fuckers at places like Halliburton lick their lips and chuckle.

Another reason to punch my past self in the face. STUPID OVERACHEIVER, KNOCK IT OFF!

Also it occurred to me that I'm stressing the citations and getting everything just right, and FFS there is no way my instructor is going to look up these articles and read the cited page to make sure my paraphrase captures the original meaning. Not when each one is 20 pages of this:
QuoteModulation of excitability in the dominant motor cortex significantly affected performance for the contra-lateral and ipsi-lateral hands, whereas modulating excitability in the non- dominant motor cortex only had a significant impact for the contra-lateral hand (83).

Fuck, I can probably say just about anything I want and as long as it's comprehensible, it'll be fine.

If the instructor DOES read it, give him the fucking android test right away.
