News:

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Can't wait for Watch Dogs to come out.  After the recent revelations, this game is going to be more timely than ever.  Playing as a hacker with unlimited access to an ostensible law enforcement based data-mining, surveillance and analysis program as part of a vigilante campaign against organised criminals?  Yes please.

Food stamp application is sent. Will be 15-30 days before we hear anything.
Later today need to go to the office and hope that paying only 130 dollars (which is everything in our account) toward rent is alright.
Otherwise might need to borrow money from parents again, which I hate to do because they really can't afford it either with Dad not being able to work anymore and the medical stuff.

Oh, shit. This is the first of the month, that means instead of one month we are now two months behind. Fuck this.
:ninja:
Laugh, even if you are screaming inside. Smile, because the world doesn't care if you feel like crying.

Best of luck!

Hmm, the eternal dilemma: pack my suitcase, or play more Skyrim?  Decisions, decisions...

Suu

I used to pack suitcases. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

I'm now imagining a high-tech version of Dishonored, which I would be 100% okay with. Gameplay footage suggest something less movement-focused, but that's fine. Thanks for the link, I hadn't heard of this before now.

No problem.

How is Gardens of the Moon going, by the way?

Gonna go get banned on some pagan forums.

Pretty well, about a quarter of the way through. Got sidetracked by a family vacation, so I'll probably try to finish it this week.

It's definitely got the usual fantasy epic trope of Loads and Loads of Characters, but I'm committed to sinking my teeth in. The influence of Glen Cook is also fairly apparent in the wry cynicism of characters who are fairly jaded, but are knocked to their senses by a major tragedy early in the story.

Cain

Yeah, for sure.

Well, if you want to discuss the series at any point, I have no problem starting a thread and subjecting the rest of PD to our spaggotry.

Doktor Howl

To fit in better at PD, I will from now on answer all posts that I care to respond to with youtube links of questionable relevency and/or overdone, predictable natures.

Because nothing says "I hear what you say", or gets a joke going, like a cut and pasted youtube link.
