Disney movies that would never be made today.

Not really. I've been throwing on my Disney movies as background noise while I work as I late, and it's been at least 10 years since I've seen most of them and I've noticed stuff that totally sticks out that I just don't think would fly today without some sort of petition or outrage from one or more fringe mother groups.

The fringe mother groups were at their absolute height in the 80s - 90s, when most of those films were made.

I was probably too young to notice, and had parents who really weren't bothered by it. Though my mom has told me that they dumbed down the version of 101 Dalmatians we got on tape, because she remembered different scenes from her youth. I mean, they dumbed down Mickey's Christmas Carol from the version we recorded off the Disney Channel in the 80s versus the one they play now. They cut out a fair amount of violence, either because of "sensitive content" or the fact that everything on TV nowadays is only 15 minutes long with 300 commercial breaks.

Id have to contest the Aladin one. They already made everyone in that movie, except the bad guys, so white bread. Aladin himself sounds like a frat kid, and Jasmin being all "I am not a prize to blah blah." STFU AND BERKA YO ASS.

I dunno, generally Disney takes the bad shit and makes you think it ain't bad.

Aladdin is easily one of my faves (Watching it now and singing like a dork) and yes, Arabian Nights is far more violent than anything Disney can legit push out. It's just that someone would bitch that it involves Muslims, and they even say "Allah" and it would be on every fucking news station that this "new and controversial" movie "pushes buttons in the post-9-11 world."

If they did the Grimm's the way they were actually written, no kid would ever want to watch them. Ever. Shit, even most adults.

Looking back, they've always been at the same intelligence level.  No difference at all.  Wait...Actually, I'd say The Hunchback of Notre Dame gives kids far more credit for intelligence than did Mary Poppins or 101 Dalmations, both of which were made 2 decades earlier.
