So I took a public jab at the folks at MPP and gained an interesting new ally.  The liquor industry.  They are fucking pissed at the pro-legalization folks because of their "pot is safer than alcohol" talking points.  Talk about interesting bedfellows.

You are allied with the liquor industry.

Makes sense. Legalized marijuana could pose competition, especially if it's safer than ethanol consumption.

ETA: I say could, because I don't think that will actually be the case. What pothead hasn't also had a beer from time to time?

They aren't worried about competition, they just want someone to SHUT UP the legalization folks and their angle of talking about how alcohol is so much worse and unsafe compared to marijuana.

Yea, I know, all those stories where people smoke too much weed at once and get marijuana poisoning, vomit everywhere and need to have their stomach pumped. Scary, man
There's no sun shine coming through her ass, if you are sure of your penis.

Paranoia is a disease unto itself, and may I add, the person standing next to you, may not be who they appear to be, so take precaution.

No.  That's what they want but I explained to them how that isn't possible, at least not publicly.

Out of curiosity, when (and we all know that's a when, not an if) prohibition is gone, are you guys going to have to switch your tactic to responsible marijuana use, much like that of alcohol?

I just had an epiphany.

Dubstep isn't intrinsically awful. It's just always being used incorrectly.

I need to ruminate on this some more before I try to explain myself. And by "ruminate" I mean "drink gin".

This is an excellent insight into dubstep.

Thanks for the heads-up! :)

I know a lot of young people who are into dubstep.

And my daughter has taken to listening to something that I can hardly recognize as music, and she seems to enjoy it. I take this as evidence that I am getting old, rather than as evidence that kids these days are listening to crap. When adults don't like, understand, or even recognize as "music" the crap kids are listening to, most likely that's a sign of progress and doin' it right.

Keep on listening to your weird sounds, kids.

Hey speaking of weird sounds, you know who has stood the test of time well? Cyndi Lauper. I still listen to her all the fucking time, and the kids dig her.

I am intrigued!

Also, fuck yeah Cyndi Lauper!

Next time she is listening to those sounds, I will ask her what it is, and pass along the information.

It sounds a little like video game music mixed with jazz on speed. Sometimes there are vocals, in some other language, possibly Japanese.
