Makes sense. Legalized marijuana could pose competition, especially if it's safer than ethanol consumption.

ETA: I say could, because I don't think that will actually be the case. What pothead hasn't also had a beer from time to time?

They aren't worried about competition, they just want someone to SHUT UP the legalization folks and their angle of talking about how alcohol is so much worse and unsafe compared to marijuana.

Dubstep isn't intrinsically awful. It's just always being used incorrectly.

I need to ruminate on this some more before I try to explain myself. And by "ruminate" I mean "drink gin".

I know a lot of young people who are into dubstep.

And my daughter has taken to listening to something that I can hardly recognize as music, and she seems to enjoy it. I take this as evidence that I am getting old, rather than as evidence that kids these days are listening to crap. When adults don't like, understand, or even recognize as "music" the crap kids are listening to, most likely that's a sign of progress and doin' it right.

Keep on listening to your weird sounds, kids.

Hey speaking of weird sounds, you know who has stood the test of time well? Cyndi Lauper. I still listen to her all the fucking time, and the kids dig her.

I am intrigued!
