After a major screeching-match, what does "let's make up" mean in your relationship?

A) Let's forget the whole thing quickly, let's make like it never happened, let's turn a new leaf, well, let's turn several new leaves actually... cuz we lurvz each otherz, really, don't we now?

B) Let's try to figure out what the fuck happened there, exactly why and how we ended up cursing each other's mothers. Let's see if we can spend quite a long time to work out a story we can both agree on that explains why that doesn't threaten our relationship: it is okay to make 1stupid mistakes, etc...

My personal experience dictated this, quite recently. I don't see how it is insensitive, as I didn't offer it as a response to anything. I lost a marriage of 13 years to A) (to be quite clear: 'lost' in the sense of 'fucked it up'), and only discovered B) afterwards. It is an important discovery. Thank Eris.

Nothing makes me think that. I don't even know who Dr. Phil is. I had a major screeching-session with the wife, sorted it out, and finally (dim-witted and emotionally damaged piece of human that I am) I was able to conceptualise why that sorting out is an actual sorting out, and why a great deal of what I had thought was sorting out that I was in the habit of doing in my previous marriage wasn't. Then I formulated it in this simple form.

As to the question about what is wrong with me, I take that as admonition rather than a genuine question. And just in case it is very slightly a question too: it's a very long and tedious story.

And no, it was most definitely not in response to Alty.
