TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

I'm trying to piece together a scenario involving harpoons, shotgun pellets, Richter, and your face.

I'm sure whatever I'm imagining doesn't compete with what actually happened.

We have decided that it is classified.  Carry on.

Shit.

Scott Ashton, drummer of The Stooges, has died.

He influenced a lot of my drumming growing up.

That blows.  How old was he?

Mesozoic Mister Nigel

So I unfriended some MRA/PUA dude I picked up on TDS like an STD because I just don't need that shit on my wall, and the following chat conversation ensued:

Him: So you dump me as a friend because i disagree with you on one issue?

Me: No, it's mostly because I think you're kind of a toxic creep and I don't have time for that.I gave it the old college try... but no, thanks.

Him: You really didn't. I have kept freinds for years that i fundamentally disagreed with on issues on both sides. The bottom line is the ones that ran were the ones that did not really want their view of the world fundamentally challanged. Sorry, I thought yu were stronger than that.

Me: Dude, I don't even know you.

Him: You seem to think you know me well enough to cut off communication.

Me: I am chatting right now with a friend I have had for 22 years and he does a great job of challenging my worldview, but is not a slightly creepy, pushy stranger.

Him: Well now you are making vague emotional accusation at me so I guess it is a lost cause. Bye.

I love the negging at the end. :lulz:

After 5 years without hearing a peep from my best friend of yore, Larry (formerly known here as the mountain monk), he calls me out of the blue.  Which is good.

One of the next trips I make is to a company that is 3 miles from his house.  Which is good.

His wife, however, died at the ripe old age of 41 this last January.  She had some weird Crohns thing, and for whatever reason had her on immune suppressants, and she died from the flu.  Which is bad.  I never met her in person, but we'd talked several times and she seemed really, really nice.
