Its not meant to be taken seriously, I think.

Cole Frehlen

The lyrics are all written by the singer, this 5-foot asian kid with insanely long hair.  I think he takes it a little too seriously.

It's still older than Strom Thurmond.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."
- TGRR, raising the bar at work.

Unfortunately, Roger is partially right. 90% of all metal is crap, and the fans are usually jock assholes who are too full of themselves to admit that the entire genre of music is idiot. Much like discordianism, its better off when not taken seriously, but I dont think some asshole who's closest connection to the genre is Judas Priest is really the one to criticize it.

Funny story, I know a girl who got groped by Strom Thurmond.
The Jerk On Bike rolled his eyes and tossed the waffle back over his shoulder--before it struck the ground, a stout, disconcertingly monkey-like dog sprang into the air and snatched it, and began to masticate it--literally--for the sound it made was like a homonculus squatting on the floor muttering "masticate masticate masticate".

Bestest metal band EVAR:  Pancreas Joe and the Leftist Eskimos

Hit single:  $30 guitar.

Sounds like the very worst of emily dickenson, set to a garage band.

The ONLY metal group that REALLY understood.

Funny, all the jocks where I grew up were into country.  When they wanted to "rock out" they would put on "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks, I think.  High School dances were boring until my friend and I convinced someone that we should be the DJ's and we played Dio, Ozzy, and Megadeth.  It's funny watching jocks "moshing."
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

East Coast Hustle

replace "Friends in Low Places" with "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy", and nothing else around here has changed.

ECH,

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

Whenever I travel to Machias I get a certain sense of relief when I reach Bucksport because I know the trip is more than half way done.  Then I realize I'm in Bucksport and I high-tail it for Hellsworth.

Ozzy and Megadeth

East Coast Hustle

credit where credit is due time: if you like "technical" metal and laugh at megadeth, you really have your head up your ass.

Oh no, I think they are great musicians, just the music is funny.  And Ozzy himself never had an ounce of talent, but he did surround himself with good musicians.  I wonder why he isn't dead yet.

I just meant that Megadeth was   not untalented.

gotcha. and agreed, especially about Ozzy.

I cannot deny the sheer coolness of a good thrash riff, but it does get a little old.  Hence my interest in Slayer spanned for a whole 3 months, and now I just plain don't care about em.

Thrash is great, but I like my metal to headfuck me til I don't know what just happened.  I like music that takes time to digest instead of wanking.
