TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

Sounds like someone's been reading Lovecraft.  Either that or I've been reading too much.  Very nice, though.

Cain

Yeah, somewhere around there, but I'm no expert.  If you go to the Wikipedia page on him, you'll find links to some of his work.

QuoteDespite his best writing efforts, however, he grew ever poorer. He was forced to move to smaller and meaner lodgings with his surviving aunt. He was also deeply affected by Robert E. Howard's suicide. In 1936 he was diagnosed with cancer of the intestine and he also suffered from malnutrition. He lived in constant pain until his death the following year (1937) in Providence, Rhode Island.

Yeah, Lovecraft is the shit.  I just brought home a big box of like 10 books of his stories from my old place, been nose deep in it for like a week, gave three of them to my gf to read so she can bone up on her cthulhu.

No.  It's like Herman Melville on acid.

But worth it, none the less.

Well, in some ways he was.

However, despite - or perhaps because of - his choice of subject, he was the ultimate skeptic, and I can approve of that.
