Yeah, my dad, having been to Amsterdam, has explicitly stated that I won't be going to the Netherlands ever (unless I don't tell him.) In his words, doing so would be "flying a little too close to the sun there, Icarus."
So until I'm 18+, it shall remain a mythical land of sensible drug policy, squatters/squat raves, and a really high standard of living.
