News:

We've got artists, scientists, scholars, pranksters, publishers, songwriters, and political activists.  We've subjected Discordia to scrutiny, torn it apart, and put it back together. We've written songs about it, we've got a stack of essays, and, to refer back to your quote above, we criticize the hell out of each other.

Although some of the jerks around here will find out your real info just so they can Google your name and see what sort of a loser you were when you were 14. (This sulky expression is directed YOU, Payne :p)

Haha OK cool! I can relax my ninja stance! Also I will post a pic later. Wait, is it a trap?

You will be given a gift from the gods if you post a pic. Srsly. I speak from experience. Most people here have a pic on file in the anals of the WOMP repository.

fixed for added truthiness.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

Richter

Just an OT moment (I WILL by lynched for this):
Full names, DOB, address, SSN, etc., are things to avoid.
Also; check your local laws as far as personal / credit rating protection.
Not perfect, but covers most bases.  This is what I do since I'm fairly easy to track down from this forum.  I'm no master on the subject.  Not saying anything you don't want coming back to you goes a long way too.

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

Also, check your email and usernames against certain key phrases (for example "Nigel Discordianism address") in various search engines to see what turns up.  After all, if you can find it out, someone else can.

I know there is no way to find me based on my nigel-y name. But if anyone got hold of my real first name it would be instant doom. I mean, inasmuch as they could send me a postcard or something. My parents cursed me with a very distinctive first name. :( Damn hippies!

Soooooooo I have been on this here board thing for a couple of weeks, and I'm starting to trust you people to some degree.
I noticed that most of you seem to know each other pretty well, as is normal and logical from being on a board together over time. My question is, how closely is wise and prudent to guard details of one's personal life and identity? Not knowing, I have been careful not to reveal anything about my family life, hobbies, or work. I figure my eating habits and education are unlikely to give too much away because lots of people take math classes and eat a lot of olives. My name is generic enough. Am I basically on the right track, or am I being needlessly paranoid?

LMNO has my email address, and from which could easily track down everything there is to know about me, but the letters LMNO seem inherently trustworthy.

Here kitty kitty kitty . . .

Did someone say gorgeous?

Mary: Let me ask you something.
[Grabs his hand]
Mary: Why are you alive?
John Preston: [Breaks free] I'm alive... I live... to safeguard the continuity of this great society. To serve Libria.
Mary: It's circular. You exist to continue your existence. What's the point?
John Preston: What's the point of your existence?
Mary: To feel. 'Cause you've never done it, you can never know it. But it's as vital as breath. And without it, without love, without anger, without sorrow, breath is just a clock... ticking.

But, strangely enough, no nude pictures.  Yet.

I've posted about my job but I would never post the actual place where I work.  And it's more to protect my Agency than myself.  It might be bad PR for them to have someone with Discordian tendencies in their midst.  And I don't worry about anyone here trying to track me down.  Because they'd have to come to fucking Maine to do that.
