However, I have commandered a private AOL chatroom which works more easily (just been testing it in IRC now).  All you need is an AIM account.

What about Skype?  There are a couple other microphone-oriented chat programs out there, as well.  Skype is generally the easiest to use, though.

My University server seems to be blocking it from working.

AIM does work, however, for some reason.

Once I'm finished with this server, Teamspeak and Skype will be better.
