Right, personal attacks will get you really far in life.

Apparently it works for Roger, Faust, and most of this board.

Actually, I got where I am via senseless violence.

Slightly different.

Personal anecdotes are not good evidence.

Um...hey, illiterate:

Yes, but fortunately I made my living by bending peoples' thumbs the wrong way, not by publishing in a journal.

Again I am unsure how you have any ethics, at least any that make any sense.

Besides facing my failings and my actions, rather than making lame excuses, you mean?

Quote from: I Am Not A Rhombus on June 11, 2008, 03:46:45 AM
Why? So you can laugh at it or say how it doesn't matter, or if it's something to do with the internet, someone can use it to pull up even more personal shit?

That's what I thought.  You're a useless eater.

Quote from: I Am Not A Rhombus on June 11, 2008, 04:14:48 AM
Of course, doing one or two good things doesn't make me a good person, since I have no doubt you have one or two "Kind deeds" up your sleeves. Your values are still utterly and completely disgusting.

Actually, I make no claims of any good deeds.

Richter

Quote from: I Am Not A Rhombus on June 11, 2008, 03:30:41 AM

Seriously, WHY do you need to defend the Internet as a random piece of crap? It already is. You're not saying anything new. The internet is only the way it is because your attitude exist. If people like you were sent off to the loony bin we'd notice a gradual but sure improvement in just about everything.

Don't get mad that someone else can express their frustration better.
People, on occasion, use what is around them to get past their emotions without lashing out impotently.  They can deal with or change what annoys them without making offensive noises or causing a scene.

Suu:  Several things I noted here that are worthwhile:

The internet as a form of stress relief, catharsis, etc., is always a worthwhile view.  The bitching, leeching, the hate and gore only make it better for this.  Anyone who thinks otherwise deserves to spend the rest of their life locked in a children's program for being unable to cope.  We all get to see horrific things, and more often than not some worthwhile or even excellent ones.  It makes little difference to what people are in the end, it just gives us a separate venue.

Regardless of the venue, though, I'm always amused and depressed by those you mentioned; whining for acceptance and better treatment.  Thankfully, online they're more likely to be ignored and ridiculed until they decide to shut up, step up, and be more of what they want to see.

This episode may have a "to be continued..."
