Which Children's Shows Scared You When You Were Young?

I was mortified by HR Pufnstuf at a young age, and was also frightened by two Canadian kids shows, Read All About It and Readalong.  It sounds like I was afraid of reading, but that's not the case... both shows were creepy.  Read All About It was supposed to be a mystery show for kids, so it was probably intentional in that case, but Readalong was not meant to be frightening, but it was for me anyway.  I think it was the puppets... whoever made those puppets was full of evil.

Which kid's shows frightened you when you were young?

Yep.  When my parents didn't want to take us to church they just had us watch Circle Square and Jerry Falwell to make up for it.

The Friendly Giant was a little creepy too.  Just because he seemed a little too friendly.

i just googled the shows mentioned, memory lane in this thread, i remember the intro to both "read all about it" and "circle square"
but i don't remember the shows so i probably didn't watch them much, the green giant i remembered very well and could quote the words to the intro before they said them, weird because i haven't thought about that show since i was a kid :? i wonder what else is stuck in my brain from so many years ago??.

the one that scared/freaked me out as a kid was the maharishi from the "hilarious house of Frightenstein"

Ahhh yes, the Hilarious House of Frightenstein... it was bonechilling... I'm surprised it wasn't the Librarian who frightened you...

Also, The Secret Railroad was a little off.

EoC doesn't make creepy.

EoC makes creepy worse.

Didn't scare me, but boy did that one scare the hell out of my little brother.  He cried for hours after that one.  Then again, he also cried during The Incredibly Journey so he may have been overly emotional.

The Incredible Hulk.

I actually loved the show until it induced an almighty nightmare.

Was it the LSD episode that did it?

No, the episode where some guy decides to 'hunt' the Hulk with a crossbow.

The dream I had following had NOTHING to do with the content of the show, but my parents always blamed the show for that nightmare.
