Haven't read the rest of the thread, but Item Two, because it doesn't have a border.

I considered three or four as well, for being a circle and having a different colour, but decided on two.  BECAUSE I LIKE BORDERS.

I picked 2 because although all  their individual differences "stood out", number 2 stood out the most b/c it didn't have a border and just kinda blended w/ the rectangle in the background.
