Just about to watch this now.  Anyone else catch it?  Actually, just checking, has anyone not seen the original?  Because if not, I'll be sure to avoid any spoilers.

I remember the original. Didn't know they was doing a remake. My home PC has assploded so I can't watch torrents till I get a replacement :x

never seen original but the commercials for this one remind me of Childhood's End, cept the aliens looked like Satan in that book (i bet you are all shocked i read a book)

I've never actually read that book, despite numerous attempts to make me.

One thing I will say, the focus on the FBI (as opposed to the scientists in the original) kinda bothers me.  I also thought the (somewhat overt) Nazi themes of the original were well-integrated, but I don't see too much of that here.

But I'm willing to give it time, since it's only an episode in, so far.

That's a good book, btw.

Triple Zero

not seen the original, but it's something about aliens enslaving humanity, right?

(spoiler alert)

oh was that already the spoiler?

it's the only thing I know about the series ...

I guess it's kind of like how I only know one thing about 6th Sense, while never having seen it :)

Well, in the original, it started out as a "what if we made contact with aliens"? show, and the aliens showed up as friendly.

I suppose that with the new series, we already know what's going to happen, so...

I liked the original (as campy as it was) because there were some interesting ominous moments before we figured it out.

Dysfunctional Cunt

I think the FBI involvement is because they are using the "alien sleeper cell" theory.  Make it sound like terrorists because we all know that is what scares us most right?  Right?

I watched it.  I wasn't thrilled but I had pretty low expectations so.....

I get the feeling David Icke was a consultant for this series.

The original series came out in 1983 so you might have the causation backwards there. ;)
You cannot fathom the immensity of the fuck i do not give.

(light spoilers)

Saw about 10-15 mins of it, it was ok.  I'd have to see more to see how it pans out.  Has a good enough cast of folks who've been on the small screen a lot over the last decade or so.  The lead human chick, I think they are making her out to be a little shrill, a la female David Duchovny.  But it's interesting the element of human + alien romance they've used as their leitmotif.  WHO DO YOU TRUST?  The alien in your bed, or the neighbor you've always known?   Stay tuned!

Alls I remember from the original is that it had Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street in it.
