A webcomic brought up this as a gag awhile back.  Dueling Analogs or Penny Arcade I think.  It's   :horrormirth: as gag or truth.

I can't tell trolling from reality anymore.  This is going to be one hell of a decade.

either way it's kind of goofy yes, but not as bad as the left behind game, probably be much more entertaining too.

I suspect hoax on the basis that the 'cross' controller would be called a 'rosary' in properly-researched satire or a product that has a chance of succeeding.  Especially with the fucking beads.
