I learned about seven years ago that politics dont matter and that business interests have been influencing political policy in this country since about day 1 (just read about the Virginia Colony and Shay's Rebellion and take it from there.  In fact this country was FOUND while looking for faster trade routes), and that TPTB dont have the 'little mans' interest at heart.

What do you mean when you say "politics don't matter" ?  Just off the top of my head, life has gotten a lot harder for immigrants in the US since being tough on illegal immigration became a safe political position (again.)  Families have been (and continue to be) ripped apart when husbands are forcibly deported and their American-born children stay behind.

Business interests have been influencing public policy world-wide since before the concept of the modern business.  It's not some shocking hidden conspiracy.  I'm not sure how you could have lived 40+ years without realizing this.

"This country" (I assume you mean USA) was not found while looking for trade routes.  Europeans found the Americas while looking for trade routes (among other things) but the USA didn't exist at that time.

We are cattle, the nuclear family is a CIA plot, and now that the world SEEMS like its about to hit a massive shit-storm for the next few years, im glad that now I decided to quit college and Im not losing some job that I worked the past 30 years trying to get myself to.

The nuclear family predates the CIA by at least a few hundred years.

It sounds like your reasoning about college is entirely based on whether it gets you a job.  I guess that works for you, but there are plenty of other reasons to attend college.  Namely, to facilitate getting an Education, which is a valuable thing in its own right.

Going to school gets your personal ideas questioned or if in corcondance, it gives you a context to where they originated or to compare them to.

My 2 years in college have helped me systematize my ideas, helped me express them, and has exposed me to criticism, and also running into authors that have developed a subject broadly that interests me while i just have the schematics is useful.

And hell, why restate something as innovative if its been said before? Having knowledge of whats been said and done before gives us the oportunity to continue where the last guy kicked off.

I guess thats what one could call the "social" component to learning, which you dont get by reading on your own.

But then again, if you only care about "money-making", why should it matter?
