TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

Wow, not until I read Jenne's post--twice, I stopped trying to think of good advice to give you, and I got the message.

That doesn't make it easier to say it sounds pretty hopeless and you might be better off to go and try save yourself and let the friend boil in his own fat ... But that would be pretty harsh no?

IRL, a friend is a friend. To stick with, unless they seriously cross the line. You can come to their aid less often, if they keep screwing themselves over, but never abandon entirely.

Does that work different for countries?

(I wouldn't know, I'm not a country)

Cain

Thanks all.

To be honest though, I got kinda worried for a while there, when it seemed no-one was picking up on the analogy.  It took P3nt of all people to restore my faith in PD.com (a horrible sensation I'd rather not repeat ).

If it's any comfort at all (it probably isn't) I'd picked up on it and was coming back to the thread to post my mittens,  but P3nT just beat me to it.

Actually, I thought it was ABOUT Pent at first, the big fat bastard.

Oh wow. MAJOR "ah-ha!" moment when I got it. Brilliant. :mittens:

I know what you mean. Took me as long as the TGRR letter about the panama incident.

Hands-down the best thing Cain has ever written.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Thank you, Cain, for writing the best thread in the last 7 days, and the only one that doesn't make me want to choke a fucker.

QUICK, SOMEONE MAKE A PUN

THAT WOULDN'T BE VERY PUNNY!

That is not a pun.  That is a play on homonyms that makes me want to light my johnson on fire, like that guy on the airplane.

Yeah, he tried to alight before the plane was on the ground.
