TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

One of my cats has become obsessed with a neighborhood tabby cat that comes by to say hi or something. She Cackles at it and runs from window to window to keep watch on it, and if you remove her from one of the windows and into another room she will run right back and watch it until the tabby leaves our yard.

The Mr thought we should break her of this habit, but I think its not harming her and she makes cute noises when watching it.

So, fellow PDers. Should we break the behavior by not allowing her on our kitchen table that is right below said windows or just let her be?

Use a taser.

That would be inappropriate!

Cats aren't children, after all.

Apologies.

Use a shotgun filled with rock salt.

The cackling is a hunting call. Just don't let her get out and attack the tom.

If she's having enough fun watching him, there's no problem unless it's an irritation. If you *do* want to break her of that habit, use a water pistol whenever she does it. Removing the table probably won't help -- it is not advisable to attempt to outstubborn a cat, and few succeed.

It is virtually impossible to break a cat of any habit, it will just become sneakier in how it goes about it.  Best to leave it be.  Besides, watching cats spazz out over things they can't do anything about is cheap entertainment.

Suu

It's perfectly healthy and normal. Leave her be.

That's what the Hebrews thought.

It brings joy to the tabby cat outside; leave it be. I know this because my old cat did the same thing. Drove the neighbor's cats absolutely ballistic, and all he ever did was sit there.

That's what I thought!

if you don't want the cat on the kitchen table, then yes. but not because of what she looks at. but if you dont want her on the kitchen table because cats shouldnt be sitting on furniture, then stop her.

Use a taser in conjunction with a video recording device. Post the results on YouTube.com.

What we do--- look outside to see what the hubbubb is about, sigh, spray the cat with the squirt bottle for fun, chuckle, let him keep doing it
