Im watching the 10-12-09 Question Time episode with Salma Yaqoob on it, and man, she is kicking ass.  What is going on with this woman, is she in elected office or heading to it?  Whats the general opinion of her over there, is she for real?

She's part of the antiwar political organization RESPECT - The Unity Coalition and thus about as relevant to British policy as Mike Gravel is to American policy.  Most people have never even heard of her.  I believe she sits, or once sat, on Birmingham City Council, but, well, Birmingham....

She occasionally writes here for the Guardian, if you want to read more of her, though.
