Well, I'm still not always 169% rational, but the swings only last a few minutes or hours now, instead of days.  Plus, I realize they're happening.  On the headache front, I no longer feel like someone's driving a tent peg through my ear.

I gather it takes months to fully get over these things, but the improvement in the last week alone has been amazing.
