I wander off for a few days and come back to this...  I love our forum!

Ok, couple things.

1) I think that the concept of 'discordian' (adjective, not proper noun) forum where productivity, action, etc are the main focus (with fluff kept to a minimum) is a great idea.
2) I think that the domain name www.principiadiscordia.com and the home of the number 1 digital copy of Malaclypse's prolapsed anus which was mistaken for a book are maybe not the right place for a 'keep fluff to a minimum' sort of forum.

When I first looked online for info about the Principia Discordia, THIS PLACE was the number one hit. That means any cabbage that just learned that they have a pineal gland... is likely to show up here... expecting to find a happy, hippie, stoned Erisian Elysium. There's no need to cater to that sort of newly converted Child of She What Done It All... but its like hunting for missionaries at the "Come learn about our church" day. Beyond that there are lots and lots of non-pineal posters here and they, for some goddess awful reason, actually seem to like each other. That means they're going to behave like primates in a tribe... they're gonna chatter and scream and howl and throw poop at each other.

If they have this place for the social screaming and some other place dedicated to development, jakes, WOMPS, GASMS, etc. maybe that would provide some hodge/podge balance for all of us. If you don't want to hear the screaming Monkey's, you can go play in the other forum.

The only thing I didn't like about ECH's original post was that it felt a little preachy and elitist, but I think it was probably frustration that was seeping out rather than the other (cause ECH generally seems not at all preachy or elitist).

I mean, hell... why should we think that an all in one sort of forum would meet the wants, desires and enjoyment needs of the 23+ freaks that hang out here?

I think that part of the problem is when we started posting topics of serious content and such in Apple Talk we took it from the bullshitting around section to something more and now it's irritating as hell that the bullshit which has always been in Apple Talk just doesn't reach the standards we now want.

And while I don't really think those topics, Spiders, City and so forth belong in "Or Kill Me" they are a level (or quite a few) above the normal Apple Talk stuff.  So, a question is, do we create yet another section?  Or accept the good with the bad?

Then again Apple Talk is visible to guests and maybe some of the awesome in AT will draw in people.

I will admit it was easy to ignore AT when I knew it was limited to the personal topics and the other stuff.

I'm no help because I'm irritated by a lot of the stuff but it makes people happy. I'm torn.
