So, our plan to keep the masses complacent with drugs and alcohol is working pretty well, no?

Hey, I haven't changed my habits since that whole thing started.  I was ignoring him then, I'm ignoring him now.

I think you're missing out, though.  EOT is funny as hell, and tends to offer more substance than  :lulz: or :mittens:

Yeah, :lulz: was originally "laughing at stupid people", and now it's "laughing".  And :mittens: was originally "your writing has owned the fuck out of <insert person, viewpoint, etc>, and now it's "I enjoyed your post, but I am too lazy to write a response."

Huh... those are origins I was unaware of.

I rarely use the  emote because he looks nervous.

Yeah, that's way back from the FC days.

For example... O :mittens: NED.

And the :lulz: was originally 3 separate emotes, as was :tgrr:

But you know, and this is probably the only post I'll make here, I often only give a small emote or quick note of praise because I'd rather the person thought I'd read it actively than just glanced at it and moved on.  Sometimes it seems people want to have it both ways, and that isn't always possible.  Sometimes I only HAVE time to write something small, but I want to acknowledge that I put time in to actually read it.  When I have more to offer, I do, but that also often goes unnoticed/unresponded to as well.  *shrug*  You can't win for losing, sometimes, here on this board.

Oh, no issue with that.  Not everyone can fuck off all day on PD.

I use them in the way that you describe because the lol emote sucks (as its upper lip reminds me of the alien as it is staring down sigorney weaver), and mittens are significantly more convenient than actually writing down "i enjoyed your post, but i am too lazy to write a response."  if i didn't use the emote, i would still feel compelled to compliment, but it would be something approximately as convenient, just less PD idiomatic....

Again:  Nothing < mittens < comment < run it right back at the poster with a rant of your own.
