Have you ever walked the dunes out on Wood End?  Granted, not the crazy variety of fun that the town is.  The contrast of untouchable nature (hard to keep ANYTHING human built on an exposed sandbar) punctuated by the evenly space lighthouses, and the land narrowing out into nothing but the bay has always made compelling to me.
