Just got the certified letter.  She is, as predicted, asking for $350 + future royalties.

Not happening.   :lulz:

Yep.  Because I didn't pay her a month ahead of schedule.

I wonder if this is because she saw that you gave me an advance?

Also...we're almost done. :D I need another solid week or so and I just got some rush sewing orders (or rent wasn't getting paid) so I need to get those out of the way.

I also have ideas for repackaging this whole thing, but my phone is off right now (see also: rent) so as soon as I stabilize we'll chat and see what the next steps are.

1.  Doesn't matter...They never actually filed.  I figure Kim gave Marcus the money to file, and he pocketed it, sent a certified letter as a bluff to see if I blinked, and told Kim he filed.

2.  We don't have to release until Nov 6th, though sooner would be better.  In fact, I'd like to cram issue 3 in before that, if you'll have time.

Um, Tucson.

It boggles the mind.  I just wasted an hour of my morning to go down to the courthouse to file a response to a non-existent small claims case.

I would imagine falsely representing court documents would itself be a crime?

Naw, the first summons, which I answered, was a certified letter in which he referenced no court document numbers (he isn't required to).  He announced the lawsuit, but that in itself isn't a crime, even if done falsely.

The sheer stupidity of that man blows my mind.

He may have intended that letter to be an attempt at mediation, but I highly doubt it, as he made several errors which indicate he's never read the guidelines.

It sounds kind of relieving to be honest, this would bump them down to just "ignore forever" status as opposed to "ensure future misery" status.
