I just don't understand any kind of absolute egalitarianism philosophy. Whether it's branded as anarcho-capitalism or straight anarchism or sockfucking libertarianism, it always misses the same point.

Have any of you spags ever bought any furniture from Bob's Discount Furniture?  If so please share your experiences and commentary with particular focus on product quality.  The missus and I are getting ready to upgrade some living room and kitchen furniture.  Bobs has good prices but I've heard varied accounts on the quality of Bob's merch.

I don't have any comments about the merch, but the bob's discount furniture commercials from the 90s made me hate him in a very distinct way

and then I began to love him

I've gotten my own furniture has always coem from family, yard sales, and Salvation Army.  I have no horror stories on 2nd hand Bob's stuff though, as I'm certain he would not ship anything with a stain of THAT size.

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

I have no first-hand experience with stuff from Bob's, but I've heard 2nd and 3rd hand accounts of their stuff being "fell off the back of the truck" quality. Sort of like the Best Buy of furniture. have you checked Mardens? They frequently have awesome furniture that's actually good quality for pretty cheap. I don't know about the stores in your neck of the woods but I know the Bangor and Ellsworth stores are great for that stuff. I also know that the Biddo store sucks. Not just for furniture, for everything. it's like the red-headed stepchild of Mardens. But that's exactly what you'd expect to find in Biddo.

Wear a shower cap. We went out couch shopping last month and then spent a week fighting off head lice. :(

Bob's is great.

Free candy, good food, and quality furniture.

Although, having met Bob, I can't see he will or will not try to steal your children away whilst you are perusing his wares and the little ones are gorging themselves.

In that vein, he may or may not be like the witch from Hansel and Gretel.

We won't know until it happens. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN.

Suu

Ugh, used furniture.

Pretty sure Bob's isn't used furniture. And Mardens definitely isn't.

I'm going with FCH on this one, they're legit as far as "new and unused" furniture goes. Dent and scratch stuff, definitely. Worth it.

Meh...I'd rather buy something from the local Socialist Furniture Amusement Park than Bob's.
