Thought that Vision series was a cool presentation of the bio/logogram idea.

Vision's position as an entity created solely to function through the logogram without having any particularly demanding needs to otherwise make judgments in accordance to was novel to me at the time, a year ago, but as of now, I am less sure of the differences between 'natural' born humans and androids as both creations seem motivated by the socialization of values rather than the negentropy of the species.

What a wonderful phrase to contemplate!

Much of what western sci-fi says about emergent artificial intelligence, eastern philosophy says about human intelligence, so I can dig the idea of that being a largely false dichotomy.

for the second part, if I'm interpreting those phrases correctly, I suppose the hope is that the socialization of values attends to the negentropy of the species? Though a lack of consensus on the ways & means of the process remains particularly problematic!

Speaking of cybernetic hive minded power fantasies, I re-read GM's Marvel Boy this weekend, which is some super strong medicine!

The first issue of Hickman's X-Men run seems to have surpassed the hype by a considerable margin.

Hickman's X Men won't sell as many issues as normal, on account of he draws women realistically and without the porn poses.

Maybe, the X-men are often portrayed as civil rights stand in metaphors, and tends to attract a slightly different "power fantasy" crowd. I'm open minded and I cant get enough Hickman.

The BMM are fucking AMAZING, as was The Nightly News, Transhuman, and The Manhattan Projects.

And I love Hickman.  I hate superhero stuff, but I might read this anyway.

But  ~20% of superhero fans will not like this due to lack of enormous tits and articulated backs.  My guess is that it does well but not AS well, starting 2-3 issues after he takes over.

Probably, the exaggerated sexualisation of the female characters, and the masking of male sexuality to the point that everyone is a ken doll is prevalent everywhere in DC and Marvel.
In the same month a few years back:
The joker cuts off his own face and ties it on with a belt and thats ok to show to anyone, in another comic running batman and catwoman have consensual vanilla sex and everyone loses their shit, because that is obscene.

I absolutely can not believe how unfathomably GOOD & FUN Alan Moore's Supreme comics are!



I knew AM went to work for Rob Liefeld's Awesome Comics for a while in the early 90's, but kind of assumed it was a half-assed, phoned in gimmick, like when Moore, Gaiman, and Morrison wrote for Todd McFarlane. (I recently tried to read GM's issues of SPAWN, and no thank you, please!)

But this is the real deal! He plays with the genuine 90's Image aesthetic as a framing device for a Mort Weisinger style Superman pastiche. It's a truly wild coincidentia oppositorum.  And to think that Liefeld was paying Moore 10K per script is a wonderful poetic justice!

I guess AM & RL eventually had a falling out, and Moore rebooted his Supreme ideas as Tom Strong, Promethea, et al, with Jim Lee/WildStorm instead, creating the truly wonderful America's Best Comics imprint.

ABC is a way more polished & prestigious version of what Moore did with Liefeld, and ultimately those comics are maybe the best I've ever read, but there's something super special about these down & dirty Awesome Comics!

Between Supreme & Tom Strong it's kind of impossible to reconcile the popular conception of Moore as this cranky neophobe what hates superheroes.
AM writes the most joyous & imaginative sci-fi vision of super humanity I've ever seen.
