Non-Euclidean Battle Grids

Does anybody know of any games that use a battle-grid made up of shapes other then triangles, squares, or hexagons? I know that those are the only regular polygons that will tile the euclidean plane, but surely some videogame designer somewhere must have realized by now that the play area could just as easily be a hyperbolic plane and tileable with just any type of polygon they want.

Does anybody know of any games like this?

I was thinking more like this:

or this:

Bear in mind that this type of projection exhibits significant distortion, approaching infinity as ypu approach the edge of the poincare disk. All of the polygons are actually the same size and the lines are all the same length. This wouldn't necessarily present a sign9ficant problem though, as whichever polygon  you're centered on - as well as the ones immediately surrounding it - will be relatively undistorted.

I'm getting 404s on those.

Ok, it should be fixed now. Apparently the web address was case sensitive. Also there was a typo in the second one caused by my tablet's crappy touchscreen.

Oh, yeah, I could see that. But actually the form of non-euclidean mapping I am most surprised to not see is a simple globe.

I don't think there are as many regular tilings of the spherical plane as there are of the hyperbolic plane

That would a mayor improvement of the CIV games.
