In our game, the word veritas (Latin for "Truth") is a magic word. Whenever you hear someone say it, the next thing they say or describe is True.

For example, if you hear someone say "Veritas - Look, up in the sky, it's superman!", act as if you can see him too.

If someone says to you, "Veritas, you are falling into a trance..." you must act out that effect.

This creates situations which can occur during missions if you're playing with a group of people. It could instigate humorous situations that people can ad-lib around, or even more dramatic things.

Each faction has one or two specific things they can use the word Veritas for. You must be a member of that faction, and that faction alone, to use that power. By pooling together ballots, Factions can modify or augment their powers.

Certain missions will grant Veritas powers too. This is a way of making something "officially" happen within the game world.

Examples of Veritas powers

• Once an hour, you can create a minor distant illusion. You can describe something happening, but it must be too far away for anyone to interact with. Some examples are superman, a UFO landing
• Once an hour you can call upon the Powerz of Eriz to shapeshift into a character from an anime. You must have proper cosplay. Say "Veritas, I look like goku!" (or whoever you're cosplaying as)
• You can put someone under a trance and change their memory of the last 15 minutes. You must make eye contact for 10 seconds, and then say "Veritas, you fall into a trance. Maintain eye contact for 60 seconds. If you don't look away, you may say "Veritas, you cannot remember the last 15 minutes."
• Assigning things as props within the game. In some cases, a note (called an "item tag") must be attached to the object.
  • "Veritas, this chair is actually a throne of skulls."
  • "Veritas this water balloon is actually a grenade"
  • "Veritas, this satellite dish now transmits messages to our base on Jupiter"
