I was more so making reference to your seemingly gung-ho attitude about spreading the Truth,Ñ¢,

There's no point in doing it timidly, you know.

But that's partly my point.  I'm trying not to just blindly follow all my preconceptions and believe that my beliefs are automatically True.  I've fallen into that before, as any young kid tends to do, and I know it gets you nowhere.  It's awfully hard sometimes to accept that you are just one minute cog in the vast Machine,Ñ¢, often because today's culture has become so inherently egotistical, at least in America.

There's seems to be a dichotomy in everyday life of which you have to choose a side.  Do you work to be able to rest?  Or do you rest to be able to work?

I'm not sure if either is better than the other.  To me, it seems like the latter is going to lead to a life of endless stress, whereas the former can lead to a life of peacefulness (AKA Slack,Ñ¢).

But now, your original post appears to advocate an abandonment of this peacful lifestyle, in favor of one of vehement opposition.

I guess, on a personal level, I am still trying to figure out what exactly I "should be" opposing, and whether or not opposition is even worth the effort.

A boddhisattva is a being who has dedicated themselves to reaching enlightenment, usually refining over many many lifetimes.

It was my understanding that bodhisattva (s?) have been enlightened and can enter Nirvana, but are holding off until everyone has ascended.
Again you are all welcome for my sacrifice.

I am a bodhisattiva.
Thank me later.

Ain't it fucking hilarious?  Buddhist monks spend their ENTIRE LIVES trying to reach Satori/the Buddha nature, and EVERY 18 YEAR OLD ON THE INTERNETS DID IT IN A WEEK.

:lulz:

No wonder nobody takes that religion seriously anymore.

Roger, we talked once of enlightenment. This is sort of my basis for not using the word too much. Serious Buddists rarely refer to the term because it is such a misnomer. Too many people read the stories of hearing a word and then becoming "enlightened".

It's about the journey, not the destination.

Under the Mahayana traditions, yes. But we were compairing the term arahant and boddhisattva, and arahant is not a term used in Mahayana, only in Theravada, the oldest tradition. Thus I used the Theravada definition.

Its all in context.
