Yep, I'd go with that.  Keeps the blood vessels clear.  I tend to either have acid-like rage, or verging-on-emo crazay... yesterday it was the latter of the two.

Also:  I cannot speak for Hoopla, but I reserve the right to go off the deep end for any reason or no reason at all.  As the man said, SHIT YOUR HATE OR YOU WILL DIE.

There's no crying in Discordia.  Just random anus harm.

You should see me at the new job.  Frankly, I expected my WRATH to get me fired, but I actually seem to be doing very well.

Apparently, standing on your chair and shrieking into the phone is part of our corporate culture.

Links please. I haven't had a problem with him, and he certainly didn't do anything wrong in this thread.

Well, I don't have a link, because it was on IRC, but Cainaid DID try to raise an angry mob after me, because I was going to fuck it up for everyone when we got to the BIG BOARDS.  That's good enough for me.

The fuck?

I have stated at least once that I don't care about Big Boards. I was among those who thought anyone trying to chase you off for that reason was a dipshit. Fact is, I think you're funny as hell a lot of the time, and I admire your work enough to share it with the faculty of my college, whether they want it or not: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3038/2902689468_a74a8bc3bf.jpg?v=0

But that's not the point. The point is that I hope someone out there has the chat logs you speak of, or you can at least provide a summary of the events, because I don't know what you're talking about. Unless you're talking about the banning incident, for which I have apologized profusely.

This is no time for facts.  Who are you going to trust?  Your puny mortal MEMORY, or your spiritual advisor?

Depends.  Which banning incident are you referring to?

The one where I banned you from IRC, thanks to a combination of a bad user interface ("make operator" is literally right on top of "kick & ban" in the Colloquy menu) and my cluelessness. The one where I nearly shit my pance and wrote you a hasty PM explaining the situation.

Yeah, that pissed me off.  Not because you accidentally banned me, of course, but because you apologized before my hate built up a full head of steam.  I was merely annoyed, which does nothing for the state of my arteries.  It's useless.  USELESS!

Noobs are trying to get into the flow of things, and are doing their best to "fit in".  The problem is, me poking fun at Hoopla is treated differently than Yabbo poking fun at Hoopla.

This is what is wrong with PD.com and pretty much every other forum after a few years. Older members always seem to think that people should give a shit about the size of their e-penis.

Cainad has been around long enough. He shouldn't have to toe the line or pander to older members.

I'm not quite on top of the situation, but honestly I think whether you can poke fun at someone with no hurt feelings has almost everything to do with level of rapport and almost nothing at all to do with post count/reg date.

FOR INSTANCE

I used to jab at Net and he at me, and we'd get quite pissed at each other. Now that we have spent a bit of time together, when we poke fun at each other it comes with a knowledge of who the other person is and where they're coming from, and it's taken as affectionate instead of hostile.

When a total stranger jabs at you, it's very natural to interpret it as hostile.

Then there are people who are kind of in-between, like maybe they've been around for a while but not everyone has spent a lot of time interacting with them/developing a rapport. I feel like I have a decent rapport with both Cainad and Hoopla, but clearly they don't have a really good one with each other. Sometimes one person reaches a comfort zone first and starts to joke around but the other person isn't quite there and perceives it differently than it was meant.

It's just human interaction.

Personally, if the internet was really 100% anonymous and there was no opportunity to get to know people, forums would lose all appeal to me. I love being able to look at weird shit and do online research, but for me the interactiveness and the personalities are what keeps my interest.
