I keep having these weird dreams, partially because I sleep way too much.
A recent one goes like this...
I'm just, actually up and doing things, which is a big improvement over dreaming inside dreams, sleeping on top of sleeping, when I hear some news headlines over the radio I'm not really paying attention to, yadda yadda rabid extremist terrorist blah blah. It doesn't concern me, so I go about my business. I file it away for future reference but it does not concern me, something about nazis and proud boys, etcetera. This, was a mistake.
So, I finish buttering my toast and I'm feeling as chipper as I can, which is a lot more than I usually do. I proceed to ignore the toast (another fatal mistake) and go about my business, I take a walk. I meet a young woman, she looks me in the eye and says, "You're Bryce, aren't you?" and I'm, confused for a moment, then I say "Yes, I am. My memory is terrible. Do I know you? What's your name?" and she says, scowling, "I don't tell anyone my name." and tromps off...
Tromps into an alleyway and gunfire goes off, she comes running out along with some hobos and the sound is, not alarming to me, it just strikes me as, yeah, that's a place to not go. I duck into a nearby business, happens to be a hotel, just to get away from this ruckus, after all, if it's just one guy, then it's not something to become overly concerned about anyway, except... I rent a room, and the hotel is a maze, parts of it aren't even, put together, and I keep hearing reports about this terrorist.
Finally, I see him, he tries to point a gun at me but, eh, newb, I just, duck into a hallway and casually walk away. The rest of the time it's like I'm always being stalked by someone trying to kill me, they're shooting, but I'm unconcerned, until...
I'm cornered, by a whole team of them, all armed with assault rifles, and I'm thinking to myself, fuck, this was a lot bigger than I thought it was at first, then one grins, raises their rifle, and...
