I've both legit and groundless reasons for my dislike of the elderly. If the fact the AARP is the single largest membership organization in the world doesn't raise a red flag in your mind, then i'm guessing you're colorblind. Also never mind how lax laws are against the elderly. Example: Why are the elderly still not required to take a renewed license driving test? Everyone in their right mind can acknowledge a good percent of the elderly should not be allowed to operate heavy machinery in any form.

Though I'm sure I'm just mostly bitter about the elderly because I grew up in a town where the average age was 58, and I blame all elderly people for the miserably boring existence that molded me into the snarky asshole I am today. It's like hating the god that created you, complete with all the young whippersnapper angst to back it up.

As for how I wanna go, I care not. I would be content making it to 50, and would then be ready to get off the ride. No suicide though. Unless it were a quietus, and all the other old farts had to jump in the lake with me.

You'll be surprised by how stupid you'll realize this to be when you're 45.

That will never actually happen to him.  He's young, you see.

And all the good stuff in the world was spun from whole cloth 5 years ago.

OH SHIT. THEYRE TERRORISTS.

They're required every 6 months in Florida. And thank Bob for that, because I would have had a much harder time learning to drive.

I find old folks fascinating. The years of experiences and stories they have help shape our generation and history books into what they are today. Maybe you could have learned something from them instead of learning to hate.

Also, this is pretty much equivalent to saying "I was bullied by black kids in a Washington, D.C. public school so I'm going to use that experience to justify hating all black people forever, instead of recognizing that my deep-seated, irrational mistrust of them has its roots in a bad childhood experience. I could at least partially overcome this experience with a modicum of effort and try to develop a new perspective, but... nah."

I'm curious to see what those numbers would look like when adjusted for other factors such as annual miles driven. Because if you spend many evenings and weekends driving around for the fun of it, while older drivers are actively trying to avoid driving as much as they can or just living more sedentary lifestyles, then you're going to increase your chances of an incident irrespective of any skill you may or may not possess.

I guess younger drivers are more likely to take stupid risks and drive intoxicated. But I'm always sceptical when I see raw stats like that without context.

I'd take being stuck behind Canadian Blueheads going 40mph on I-4 than a group of possible DUI 20 year olds. The old people may annoy me, but they aren't going to run me off the road........usually.
