True story

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foerster%27s_syndrome

QuoteFoerster's syndrome is the name used by Arthur Koestler in his account of the compulsive punning first described by the German neurosurgeon Otfrid Foerster.

In 1929 Foerster was operating on a patient suffering from a tumor in the third ventricle – a small cavity deep down in the phylogenetically ancient regions of the midbrain, adjacent to structures intimately concerned with the arousal of emotions. When the surgeon began to manipulate the tumor, affecting those sensitive structures, the (conscious) patient burst into a manic flight of puns.

Hope Harvard Pilgrim doesn't find out.  That definitely was a pre-existing condition before I was employed here.

On the bright side, punning obviously isn't grounds for divorce, not yet anyway....

Richter

Uncontrolled tangents into alliteration of string of homonyms has been associated with some psychotic conditions, but it's usually not punning related.

If there IS such a condition, RWHN could sell himself as patient 0 and make a fortune writing books :p

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

In my circle of friends in college it was a regular thing.  You know those scenes you see where a bunch of guys are on the corner trading rhymes or rapping?  Yeah, it was kind of like that.
