Consider, however, that Fahrenheit 451 is required reading in many high school curricula.  Could be that it's just the most recent book they remember reading.
I wasnt suggesting any real connection, I just thought it was funny.
The books dont seem to follow any real logic based on subject material, the books on the top end of the scale are much longer and harder books (Atlas Shrugged, Lolita). While the ones on the bottom rung are, as you pointed out, required reading in most schools.

Glittersnatch would be a rather unfortunate condition, if a halfway decent troll name.

These are favorite books at college students compared to the average SAT scores of the college the student attends*, it could also suggest that the colleges that take students with low SAT scores have a lot of students who missed out on 451 in high school and are just reading it now, or are having high school curriculum pushed on them while at a poor college.

I can probably trace my intense dislike of spiders to the tarantulas-in-the-bed scene from the movie.

you kids and your culture..  that pickle is a pickle..  cactaurs clearly are the bastard children of cacti and people who threw pickles at them after they had eaten the right ones.

I'm just on the right side of history.

this is what happens when you don't pay attention and ignore the preview button.

and yeah, that graph is humorous..  but I can't help wonder where the data was gathered, how expansive it was, and who gathered it.

statistics have a nasty habit of being biased.
