It's funny how the position for boot-licking is so close to the one used for curb-stomping.

This season has been quite boring.
It's funny to watch the weathermen froth over this crap right now though.

I was hoping it would veer right into the South Carolina Coast. Would be incredible to witness.

Oh well, plenty more this year I'm sure.

But the coast is all we have!

Compared to 04 and 05, every season is boring. This one is pretty normal.

FYI, wanting to personally witness a category 4 or higher hurricane is idiotic. It's the kind of thing that people think would be cool until it happens and then they have night terrors about it for the next 6 months.

Also...

Earl just re-intensified into a high category 4 and is expected to slam into us here in SE Virginia starting tomorrow night and continuing through friday afternoon. Not looking forward to riding this out on a boat.

that's probably the best way to witness a hurricane I can think of.

Yeah...category 4 again.

Nobody is taking their boats out yet up here because nobody is apparently paying attention.

In fact, I have to work tomorrow afternoon and get out at 5pm. We're predicted to be in the 50knot wind zone at 2pm.  :kingmeh: I hope I don't get fucking stranded, because I do NOT want to be anywhere near downtown.

I was going to head down to Point Judith to watch it roll in, but since it was upgraded, FUCK NO. Rhode Island needs to close the roads.

Are they making you work through this shit? Without giving you adequate time to evacuate? Cause that's putting your life in danger.
They made us work the day Charlie rolled through. When they saw it coming they said "Ok, um.. GTFO" and then we got to drive home in it. NOT safe.
Your boss can't make you go in dude.

EoC, you are NOT GOING TO THE CAPE TOMORROW.

RI is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning.

I take public transportation to and from work. If it's already nasty in the morning, they can fuck me. It's not like we're going to be busy anyway.

Yeah, I know.     I kept hoping for the best possible scenario of being able to get out there early and the hurricane veering off further east (and not being, you know, category 4).  But now that it's become abundantly clear it won't be doing that I've stocked up on supplies* and I'm preparing**.

CAT 3 is still a major hurricane. And still, no one up here is doing anything about it. *sigh*

RI has this thing that it only counts if the eye goes over you, but it's predicted to pass 30-50 miles to the East of us, that's not exactly far away.

Saturday night, I will hear the lamentation of the Swamp Yankees mourning the loss of their boats.
