Technology doesn't mean civilized, but neither does the lack of technology imply some sort of "noble savage" bullshit.

Of course, the fact that it's in fashion to view the United States and England in a solely poor light is to blame, I think, when people get confused about that sort of shit.

I certainly agree with that. I never liked the "noble savage" concept, either. It still implies a degree of cultural/social inferiority,  even glorifying it. It's like the 18th century's version of Hot Topic goth/emo kids.

Some cultures ARE inferior.

That's true. I meant the "noble savage" idea  implies itself to be culturally inferior to "civilized" society. I think. I've confused myself.   :?

This silly son of a bitch is really stuck on it's self, isn't it? Of all the trolls we have ever had this is one of the worst ever.

Want to bring a real conversation to me bitch?

Without copy/pasta and quoting other dumbasses?I am willing if you are.

But you won't, because you can't. I understand. There is no shame for you. this being the first adult board you have tried this nonsense on.

I doubt it.  Check out all the "deja vous" comments he made in the first 4 pages.

LT, can I point out that while we have made counter arguments as to what made the towers collapse, as well as the logistical improbability of carefully timed charges being placed in the tower beforehand, you have not offered any reason as to why we should discount those counter arguments?

With regards to that link you keep posting, I did look at it.  It's another example of an improper understanding of newtonian physics.

He did post a counter-argument.  He called us stupid sheep people.

Blah blah dok howl is a meanie

In some cultures, I am worshiped as a paragon of civility and tact.

Yeah! Like... umm... wait... which cultures were those again, Dok?

Those would be the ones I just made up.

They are the most enlightened cultures not on the planet.

They would fucking feudal Japan's shit, and still have time for tea.

Oh, so they have guns? Awesome. You can't call yourself "civilized" until you have firearms. And you can't call yourself "CivilizedTM" until you have napalm,  landmines, time-delay firebombs, daisy cutters, flamethrowers, UAVs, cruise missiles, and tactical nukes.

I didn't say THEY were civilized.  I said they consider me a paragon of virtue and civility.

And none of that shit is necessary to be "civilized".  The Mexica were the most "civilized" motherfuckers in history, and they never even invented the wheel.
When Europeans first got to Japan, they had actually forgotten the wheel. If you were Samurai caste, you were carried around in a litter, everyone else walked  But they still made us look like a pack of unwashed mannerless barbarians. (But we sure showed them just how "cultured" we were in WWII)

Sure, if you were a male noble.  For everyone else, it sucked balls.

Yeah, but that was pretty much the same for us, too. Still is, a lot of the time.

To the same degree?  Even CLOSE?  FFS.

And yeah, they were REALLY "cultured" in the 30s and 40s.  Once again, Western civilization is the bad guy.  For the same reason Taylor Swift is popular.

Sorry BB. We don't/didn't chop peoples heads off for nothing. Nor did/do we require suicide for being stupid.

I was thinking more of the 1600's. (I know virtually nothing about Japan in the 30's and 40's)

edit; And I'm actually quite fond of Western civilisation, believe it or not.  We have a lot of good things going for us.

Well, okay, so we're not perfect.

In any case, I just love this revisionist history shit, where the bad guys all come from a European-style civilization, and the good guys come from anywhere else.  WWII was obviously our fault, we just didn't understand that Tojo was only trying to have a good time.

Japan in the 30s and 40s was who we were fighting.

Here's your cultural heroes in action:

That's 4 years before we made them do bad things.  At that point, we must have been using our mind control lasers.

And Japan in the 1600s was in a baroque phase, hardly what you'd call a cultural dynamo.
