I'm still playing and I'm having fun making monsters and taunts.  but work is crazy busy for the next few days.  I think it's still tons o fun!

I haven't missed a day yet (though I will this weekend when I go away).  But you're right, there just isn't as much activity.  I was really enjoying it when it looked like we were on the brink of a clan war.

The repetitive green dragon slaying aspect is a good metaphor for breaking out of the BIP.  It's a constant struggle, keeping up with the new problems, etc.  I know it's hosted on your site, so making it specifically PD themed might not be the goal, but it would be pretty cool to play it written using our themes.  Fighting authoritarian figures and spiders and such.

Keep in mind that this is meant to be a very difficult task which takes a lot of time and teamwork to make worthwhile. And this is because when the buff is fully powered up, it is game breakingly powerful. You can't use the buff during training or PvP but during regular forest fights it will be extremely helpful.


You have to spend 100 gems to turn on the buff. At this point it is an unpowered buff with nothing cool about it.

There are a few different parts to the buff:

+Attack
+Defense
Drain HP
Thorns (damage reflection)
Regen
Duration

Each part has to be turned on and upgraded individually.

To turn on a part used to cost 150. This morning I lowered it to 50. (This may prove to be a mistake, we shall see...)

Then each part of the buff has to be upgraded incrementally. Each upgrade is more expensive than the previous one.

For most of them, it gets 10 gems more expensive each upgrade.
For duration, it only gets 10 gems more expensive per round of duration.


so for example, if I understand it correctly... it costs the clan a mere 10 gems to have the buff last 1 round. Then 20 gems to make it last 2 rounds. 30 for a third round, etc

after everything's been upgraded to absolute max, you can spend 750 gems to make it permanent (infinite duration)

At this point you may be saying HOLY SHIT CRAM, THAT'S A SHITLOAD OF GEMS

Yes I agree - it is a shitload of gems!

But keep in mind that you have an entire clan collecting them, and that there are races very well suited to finding gems. The other day I found 5 gems through regular play and I'm not a race that gets a gemfinding bonus. There is also a door arena in the forest you can get gems from if you're level 10+. This is a group effort, and it's a long term goal.  In the beginning, it's best to focus on duration and one other buff element.

there's a mod called pvp immunity

It gives you the option to be immune to all pvp

but as a consequence, you cannot attack people either

So if we're going to rewrite the game, we'll need a good core concept.

Here's my pitch:

The game takes place in a fantasy world where the illuminatti is in control. They have the world locked down using orbital mind control lasers. In most places in the world, everybody's become a cabbage. They have also summoned all sorts of horrible monsters, both silly and lovecraftian, which fill the forests between the cities.


The player is a new recruit in the Discordian Society. He takes up arms against the monsters and intends to slay the <end boss>. The end boss is currently a green dragon, but we should come up with something more thematic.


The masters all become Discordian figures. We can use the Discordian saints as well as any of the other established discordian figures.

Many of the titles (peasant, hipster, goon, squire, etc) change to more Discordian flavored titles: Pope, bishop, cardinal, chaplain, reverend, doktor, professor.


Eventually the races and classes will change names, but not sure what yet. Perhaps something involving the 5 discordian elements, boom, sweet, prickle, setting orange, and that other one I always forget.


The overall intent is that the game is very silly, it still has a fantasy sword & sorcery feel, but it also contains a lot of Discordian humor and stuff which may get people more interested in this Eris nonsense.

It became prohibitively difficult to navigate on a cellphone, especially if i had to get involved with the non-combatitive aspects of the game.

Plus, I got pissy when I was killed in my sleep.

If there's an option for allowing people to opt out of PvP, I probably won't play anymore as that's 95% of the fun for me.

Though, truth be told, I haven't played in about a week, or since I learned that 100 gems only allows you to see what sort of buffs you can get for EVEN MORE gems.
