The Good Reverend Roger

Some oldies that are worth rehashing.

Bump. Just finished my first couple posters. Will get with my recruit and put them up around town sometime this week.

good pairing of words + images

I think they'd be more effective with some style changes though.

The text in the first image is hard to read because you're using black on a relatively dark background. White text with a black border might work better, ala roflbot

The text in the second one would be easier to read if it was separated from the eagle's head

the second one is also pretty straight forward "both parties are bad" -- personally I think you need some additional info in order to make this a motivator and not just a piece of commentary. In contrast, the first image suggests how an individual should relate to the changes happening in society and is therefore more effective.

I agree with these points. Especially in print, contrast can suddenly turn out quite different from how it looks on the screen.

The first text might just (partly) disappear into darkness, unless your copy-shop's printer is really fancy, and even then, from a distance the text should still pop into vision (otherwise it gets drowned in the cosmic advertising background noise).

Do you have a link to the original of the city picture? I might have a go at it tomorrow.

The text on the eagle picture is, I'm afraid, 80% likely to become unreadable, except when examined up close. I agree with Cram, place the text below the eagle. But also make the letters about twice as big (they should be able to nearly fill out the with of the poster).

Good point, you could add this in a smaller font below the big catchline, for instance. Possibly in a different (but neutral) colour.

I think you're needlessly dismissive of hopeless pessimism.   :lulz:

Ok, so it seems that my guitarist might be open to ideas.  He's familiar with the Gurdjieff theory that the majority of how we act could be considered "sleeping".

I'm gonna try to hit him up with some literature, see what happens.

Finally got around to uploading this. And by got around to, I mean remembered to do so. Death with the one poster we put up that survived a week.
