I feel that I should add that I get the "disconnect" feeling sometimes, too.   I just try to get over it because I think everyone gets that to some extent.  Nobody "belongs" to any peer group 100%, all the time.  There will always be disconnects.  It's helpful to me to make an extra effort to have some empathy at times like those.
