I like to think that maybe he got inspired by that discussion, but actually made the thread (the "give SubGenii their money back" one, we're talking about, right?) to stand on its own to be funny.

Although, that was when the thread was only just a few posts long with praise about the funniness. Haven't seen yet if it went terribly downhill from there.
