Directed at no one in particular: It's not unrequited (it is, in fact, very much requited), it's "forbidden". Did I mention her super-fundamentalist-Christian parents? On the whole, it's not really a bad situation. We've been spending a lot of time together, and I'm currently happy with our relationship where it stands. I don't really think I'm ready to move on to a new relationship yet anyway, since it's not even been a week since I broke it off with my fiancée.

Epimethus: Thanks, I do.

Blight: I personally don't care much for Marshalls. My former bandmate had a half-stack I absolutely fucking hated. I have no idea why.

S/he probably just couldn't dial in a good tone. Dethklok uses Marshalls, except in Season 1. As does, Maiden, Spinal Tap, and well, 50% of all metalheads  :lulz:

It wasn't the tone that was the problem. I think it may have been because it fucked with the stage setup. Or the aesthetics, or... I don't know. I really do not have a good reason to dislike them.

ETA: Wasn't, damnit!  :argh!:

Just so as not to derail, I started up a new thread called Attn: Guitar spags. Will post thought there.

FUCK YOU BLIGHT IT'S MY GODDAMN THREAD I'LL DERAIL IT IF I WANT!  :argh!:

Ok then

Courtly love is a collosal waste of time.

Unrequited love is a collosal waste of your life.  Remedies involve shitty whiskey and Hank Williams Sr.

TGRR,

I have great hopes for you and her, especially since you FINALLY let go of she who shall not be named.  From as little of her as I've seen she seems like someone you could be really happy with, and I know how much you dig spending time with her.  From as much time as you guys spend together, I can't see how she wouldn't be with you.  She may already be in heart, but you know how that is.  If things continue as is, I can definitely see her dropping her dude and you guys start to work stuff for the better.

If only if only I could feel the same about my situation.

You missed the memo.

This thread is no longer about whiny emo shit and is now about guitar amps.

Randall or GTFO. Crate is the only possibly acceptable substitute.

Unless you can afford a Soldano, of course.

I have a Crate FlexWave. I don't usually use it because my Vyper has all sorts of effects to play with, but as far as sound quality, I really like the FW. Never used a Randall before. What do you play, ECH?

East Coast Hustle

I no longer have a large amp since I am no longer in a working band, but the next amp I buy will be a Randall Warhead. My favorite amp I ever owned was actually a 1967 Fender Showman with a 4x10 cab. That thing was louder than god, and never lost its crispness.

As for the guitar, I play a day-glo orange Ibanez RG550 with a speed neck on it and a Floyd Rose. Had it since I was 15. If forced to choose between saving that guitar and saving a human life, the human loses.

Awesome. I'll have to look into Randalls. Your guitar is awesome too. I wish i had a nice Ibanez. I have a cherry Washburn Lyon.

The only problem with my guitar is that I've grown so used to the speed neck that when I have to play someone else's guitar my proficiency level at the stuff I normally play drops by about a third. :lulz:

this, of course, is really only a problem for those who play speed metal. When I pick up an acoustic I don't try to play speed metal on it so I don't have that problem.

When I bought the Ibanez those many years ago, I didn't know fuck-all about guitars, I just loved it because it was day-glo orange. Thankfully, the pawn shop I bought it from didn't know fuck-all about guitars either so I got it for $300, which is downright unfair for a guitar of that quality.

My other guitarist has a Randall half stack, and it is a really good amp. As far as Crates, I got one for free from someone who didn't want it anymore. It's a good amp, but it's too loud. Now that's normally not a bad thing, but when you're just at practice and your being very cautious not to crank it up to 2 it becomes impractical to use.

:aaa:

That's awesome as hell. I had a similar experience with my Gretsch Thunder Jet bass. I got it for $200. Unfortunately, I didn't know fuck-all about guitars when I loaned it to my sister's brother-in-law, who proceeded to trash it.

Yes, I know.  But I know you're still not on exactly comfy ground in the situation.

That's true. But it's just a matter of time. And I'm fine with that.  :)
