News:

Bigotry is abound, apprently, within these boards.  There is a level of supposed tolerance I will have no part of.  Obviously, it seems to be well-embraced here.  I have finally found something more fucked up than what I'm used to.  Congrats. - Ruby

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."
- TGRR, raising the bar at work.

Well anyway, thanks for the support and advice, ya'll. I'll be doing what I can, hoping the Googles forget things, and trying to find more sane employment. Hopefully one or more of these things will actually happen. In the meantime, fuck everything, and I wish something would go right for a change. I guess we make our own luck and I screwed the pooch.

Hey, Roger.
what's a good resource for learning to datamine well?

I had an interview just two weeks ago and I directly spoke about Discordianism* and now I've got the job, maybe its not you're personality that is the problem maybe it was the interviewers.

I suggest you datamine yourself.  Go to a third-party computer (library, or something), and using only the information on your resume, try to find all the horrible shit you do IRL.

Then cover your tracks, wait a week, and try it again.

In addition to Roger's pseudonym advice, what LMNO said.

Google for

firstname lastname
firstnamelastname
f.lastname
f lastname
email@address.com
email firstname
email lastname

etcetera, also any additional stuff in your CV.

One thing though, about what Hoopla said, he's technically right, but there's a difference in stuff you hit on the first page of google, and stuff you find out by following links and crosschecking usernames and writings styles. The latter is known as "stalking" and if your potential future employer is prone to do that, you might want to reconsider the job (or at least your work-ethics).

searchlores.org

This. Read all of it.

Last time I tried to promote it (a couple of years back), Nigel remarked she couldn't stand the pompous and arrogant attitude with which most of the essays are written. This is true. But then, Fravia+ was a Belgian Italian. Also, his (and other seekers') pomposity and arrogance in the essays and articles are really pretty much analogous to our usage of "hate" in our rants.

It's a massive trove of knowledge. Unfortunately, a shitload of it is outdated, broken links, etc. But that's not too much of a problem, cause there's other sites discussing Google's new tweaks and special operators and quirks, but the real value in Searchlores is the discussion of techniques.

I think this is my favorite definition for discordianism I have seen yet!!

As for the OP you've been given better advice than I could give, much of which I will follow myself!

Thanks y'all! Great tips!!

Chapter 27

A good mindfuck leaves no reasons;
A good sabateur leaves no evidence;
A good artist leaves new questions;
A good barstool removes much idle speculation;
The perfect prison cell looks like the environment;
A nice tie opens many doors.

So a wise spag knows how to blend in,
and takes their freedom once inside.
They understand the people around them,
and know how to get things done.
This is called "Tweaking the Machine™".

Those who proclaim their individuality by following rebels
are still grey, though their fingernails be black.
Such things bring my palms to my face.

The Machine™ cannot be stopped.
But you can gradually redesign it
part by part,
party by party.

Chapter 30

If you're going to do some Covert Ops in the name of Discordia,
keep your head down, and Keep Your Fucking Mouth Shut.
A mowhawk is as good as a target during Police Action.

The wise spags toss a wrench into the Machine™,
and then walk away.
They strike against Authority, but don't put it on the Internet.
They subvert the paradigm, but don't stick around to watch.
They mindfuck the people, but don't pat themselves on the back.

If two people know a thing, it is not a secret.
Getting away with it means staying away from it.

It occurs to me that there's a fine line between Ontological Anarchy and just outright sociopathy demarcated only by intent.

"I'll take your word for it."

This is why I have never put anything under my real name online, ever.
As far as "The ManTM" is concerned I have an Itunes account, an Amazon account, and a separate email address that is registered to nothing but those two things.

Glittersnatch would be a rather unfortunate condition, if a halfway decent troll name.

Luckily, I share the same name as an Asian Wrestler.  He tends to take most of the attention.
