Im a bit ignorant here, what exactly is celestine prophecy?

One of the shittiest books I have ever read.  When I read it, it was under the impression it was a true story, so I gave the horrendous writing the benefit of the doubt (this was around 1994-1995)... but it quickly became clear that the entire story was being made up wholecloth by someone who had no idea how a story works.

The main thing I got from it was the "fact" that every person you make eye contact with means something to your life.  It was a good way to pick up girls for a while there.  Other than that, it's patent bullshit.

I never read it, but somewhere along the way I got given a
"The Celestine Prophecy Pocket Guide to the Nine Insights" .
Needless to say, It has been my constant companion, and comfort ever since. I dip into it for inspiration ar least 8 times a day, and I am constantly surprised at the almost spooky insights it blesses my life with.  It's because of this little book, that I am aware of my personal mission in life, and this has enabled me to "Engage the Flow". This is instrumental in developing an interpersonal ethic, that really engages me with the world, and allows me to have a positive energy interaction with everyone around me. Because everything is a field of sacred energy, that follows the Newtonian worldview, but goes much much further, into dynamic fields of energy that extend from our consciousness.
I know you are sceptical, so was I. At first. But when I began recieving synchronistic information from the very Universe itself, I was convinced! Oh yes!  And combined with my twice weekly Sigil Charging workshop, I finally feel like my life is going somewhere.

You really should watch that Barbara Ehrenreich thing NET put out. She goes into how Rhonda Byrne was cornered by someone asking exactly that: "What about the people who suffered the Tsunami?"

Her answer was that they all must've have been putting "Tsunami-like VIIIIIBES into the YOONEEVURSSS."

I rather prefer the notion that "if you can't pray the AIDS away, God must want you to die." At least there's someone ELSE to blame.

I do remember hearing her writing a book and doing talks about why The Secret and its various ilk are bullshit blame-the-victim routines, so, one day when my internet wont crap out on me, I'll definitely check it out.

I've always liked the idea of the Universe as a series of rule-bounded yet essentially random events with no inner meaning myself, but even a vengeful God is a better hypothesis than "you created tsunami vibrations LOLOLOLOLOL".
