The fact that I was accepted here as a poster seems to simply be to bash me (nearly) every time I post.

Not until you put that avatar up, at a "friend's" suggestion.  Say hello to EBS for us.

No matter what my intentions or what change I've seen happen over the years at TCC I am inherently evil simply for being there.

Yeah, the changes over the last year have been AMAZING.   :lulz:  Now you have no traffic, no posters, no new content, nothing but a fucking crazed junkie, a useless old fuck who lies about being a ranger, and some religious freak.  Oh, you also have the "rules" which GUARANTEE that NO NEW CONTENT will be permitted, unless it is also FLAGRANTLY ARSE-KISSING towards the "elders".

Fuck off.  Get cancer or something, you arsed-up, two-faced, lying, hypocritical piece of filth.

More like WON'T!

As in anytime mods and admins are overreaching, it's because they WANT to be, not because they MUST.  It's actually HARDER to not overadmin sometimes.  Easier to powergrab and pretend folks should be able to say what they wanna say without being treated like 5 year olds.

People like Wyldkat and Twinkle (because to me, this is Twinkle Mach II) want posters like us to respect them and BELIEVE they have our best interests at heart.  But are they really doing anything to change what they admit is shitty about their own place they mod/admin?

Uh, nope.  Not atall atall.

So a great big FUCK OFF from me.

I am willing to concede that somewhere, there MIGHT be a nice, ethical Pagan.

But none that moderate internet forums.  Not one.

Just one very important piece. Several of us here have walked away from mod/admin positions more than once due to morality issues with the boards. You continue to sell out.

Ok, since you aren't attacking me maybe you will be willing to explain where/how I am selling out.  I'm not trying to be dense, I really don't get what people are so pissed off at me about and I'm sure admitting that is going to get me flamed, but I'm not going learn a damn thing unless I admit my ignorance, right?  I'm a mod because I love the concept of the site, started there when I was still in college, have stuck with it through ups, downs, closures, the death of the founder, splits in the admin, high traffic, low traffic, etc...  I mod as little as I possibly can.  I always take the moderate side when it comes to admin issues.  I didn't really think of it as a position of power until people here brought that up.  I see myself as a public servant, not an all powerful overlord.  I feel that sticking with it and continuing to press for moderation in moderation is what is best for the board.  I admit that some of the admin decisions are not ones I would have made personally, but I've tried to look at the big picture over individual incidents.

What part of that is bad/wrong?  What part of that is selling out?

P.S. To other people, re the avatar. EBS had nothing to do with it and my husband really liked it.

You actually take a stand for nothing, and you've sold your soul to maintain a position on a dead board.

That is all.

You maintain that you have been striving for a year to change the board. Yet unjust admin practices continue, ego is the rule of the day, you talk about the behind the scenes things but there is no real evidence. Once a horse is dead, continued beating serve no purpose. Any of us here would have walked away by no later than the second unfair admin event. Yet you continue, so we are left to draw the conclusion that your position means more to you than your ideals.

You can see, following this train of thought why you are held in such low esteem.

Pope Pixie Pickle

I beleive that WK is really fucking naive to miss the point of WHY we got pissy about the tree avatar. If, as she claims the censorship of the david and all the veggie pics made her angry why did she not speak up at the time on the non-mod boards and call it the petty stupid bullshit that it was?

And if you did, please find the posts so I can check em and screenshot them, as my account has not been banned as far as I know.

I'm the friend that suggested the avi,  I liked the irony of her being able to wear it ehre when she couldn't wear it at TCC.

As far as the modding thing, I understand sticking with it, I don't understand going along with decisions that you fully understand to be wrong simply for group unity and I don't think that is a priority set that you are going to have any luck explaining to Discordians.

Sure, don't quit, but also don't serve as the whipping dog for EBS and Firesong.  Instead when they decide that something stupid and wrong needs done, not only don't do it, but undo it when they do it.  Sure, they'll unmod you pretty quickly, but that way rather than quitting you will have had your privileges revoked for doing the right thing.

Pixie, she did, let me link for you.

Ok, thank you for explaining clearly, I appreciate that.  To clarify, I've been at TCC since around 1996.  The modding practices have swung in both directions, getting consistently more moderate as the years went by.  Since I'm not going to show screen shots of the admin board there is no way for me to support my claims and I understand that people here will not believe with out proof.  I obviously look at the world differently than the people here.  I am an idealist and that leads me to continue to try and reach those ideals, not give up and leave when things swing against those ideals.  It would be easier to leave, but to me it would be the same as abandoning a child just because there are behavior issues.

Pixie:  I ranted in the pornography thread about censorship.  I don't remember what if anything I said specifically about the veggies on the main boards and I have no idea how to do screenshots.  ETA Thanks BabylonHoruv

At this point I really think I've said everything I can about why I do what I do.  You are all welcome to whatever opinions you wish to hold.

Thanks, Charley Brown, for explaining rather than attacking.
