Well, for one, I don't think we should get them by taking refugees from yet another trolled pagan board. Nothing against the people we got that way, just that it's got a lot of that disaster stuff you talk about, and maybe that well is a bit dried up, too.

That's what I was thinking. I have some friends that do like this place, at least the bits that I link to them, but the usual response is that they don't have time to really get involved in a forum, much. Then again, one of these guys only reads his emails twice a week, so I can get that.

On the other hand, maybe I can get him to just register a fucking account so he's logged in, and when the spirit moves him he can actually reply, even if it's just once a month :)

Another one really hates people and can work up quite a rant, different because NL has different things to rant about, but it's usually a spur-of-the-moment thing I'm trying to get him to write it down.

Others unfortunately moved away and I don't get to speak to them nearly as often as I'd like :(

I have a friend who will be joining us next week...She's the one who made those ridiculous thongs, tee shirts, etc, with my face on them (people are gonna leave skidmarks on my face with the panties  :argh!: ), and she's a member of the old EGfaBT Cabal, back in Illinois.

Oh, yeah, if he's more of a verbal-oriented guy, podcasts are the way to get him started.  Plain audio works, too, if he doesn't want to sit in front of a camera.

I've got an idea. I recently DL'd a load of Vertigo comics from TPB, and after I turn them into rar. files and extract them, each page shows up as an individual jpg. Why not re-upload them with a full page recruitment ad jpg inside? Dunno about the technical side of it, or the legality, but shit, it's Pirate Bay.

There might be a HUGE legality thing there, that would dump all over Faust...But you have the beginnings of a REALLY good idea there.  We just have to find a way to do something similar that doesn't involve gigantic fucking lawsuits.

I can always strip the video stream if it sucks.

Another thing is the spur-of-the-moment thing maybe makes him less wanting to spew it all over the world like you do, but then he's not really discriminating either.

Come to think of it there's another friend who *does* love that kind of exposition, except I fear he'd really prefer to rant in Dutch, not that he can't speak English but he's a purist that way, also I haven't seen *him* in a loooong while due to a (rather inexplicable) falling-out with the previously mentioned best friend D. No, not inexplicable, I remember, best friend D wanted to invite him to something (party?) and friend F felt he should express his inability to attend in the form of one of his wonderfully eloquent rants. Having failed him on a number of previous social occasions friend D decided this was the last straw.

Looking back at this, PD sounds like just the place for them both :lulz:

I mean which part of it? Surfing on the fame of stuff that is popular with a certain type of crowd we'd like to attract? Or?

How have we never thought to just plain out ADVERTIZE?  Write the shit on money, stick it in legal downloads, spam the fuck out of other boards (sig lines work really well), plaster it on the downloadable Discordian books/files, etc.

I have some really weird ideas for this.  All we need to do is find a medium that won't get us burned.
