More of a complaint than a rant; it's about you.

Kinda like some facebook discordians? Oh man. Yeah- theyre basically cabbages disguised as discordians. Try explaining that to them though. Theyre less about the implications of discordia and more about the excuse to act retarded or so it seems.

What is with the Discordian obsession with disorder? My understanding is that the sacred chao  shows that order and disorder, though both illusions are equal. They are both made of chaos and you can see this in action when a politician or other vogon makes a stupid decision.

This came out much more seriously than intended :S

Disorder will lead us hand in hand in Aftermath

but the Discordian preference for Disorder is based on living in the season of Bureaucracy

If we lived in total anarchy, running around shirtless, screaming, stabbing each other with pointy sticks, the Discordians would be building bridges and governments.

I think it would be more accurate to posit that some Discordians are obsessed with disorder over order.  I think those would tend to be your immature newbies who are into it for the "wrong" reasons.  I think an individual who had a more in-depth association with the philosophies of Discordia would tend to not make too much of a fuss over order/disorder and instead, as others have mentioned, look more towards the balance of creative/destructive.

It is easy to come to a hasty conclusions that you need to combat the straightjacket order that comes from governments with disorder.  But that can easily go awry, especially if you are using some kind of destructive disorder that creates collateral damage.  Your cause will be in rough shape if you end up getting the public against you as well.

On a more personal level, I tend to think creative order can have an important place in a person's life.  Music as a vehicle for expression is a good example.  Because, music really is a form of creative order.  Organizing notes and tones and rhythms in a certain pattern to manifest a piece of music.  This can be used to convey information, to rally people, or, to bring piece to the composer/performer.

The thing with creative order, I think, is that it is maybe a little harder, or a little less apparent a tool compared to destructive disorder.  Which is probably, again, why people new to the philosophy and into it for more superficial reasons, might instantly gravitate to that end.

I think I've had more experience with those who were in it in for the wrong reasons. You guys are a breath of fresh air  :)

Roger please note my comments here, especially the one where I state how happy I was that my original rant was wrong. If it also pleases add to the part where I said you were all a breath of fresh air "except Roger, as he seem hell bent on being horrible to me, presumably for something that was a miscommunication which I repeatedly apologised for".

Yeah, they're doing it wrong, we're more about the implications of acting retarded for the preservation of excuses that suppress the levity of Discord. Or something.

1.  You haven't apologized.  You have said that you are "sorry for the way I took it", which is different.  Nor was it a "miscommunication".

2.  You wrote the OP of this thread without knowing a FUCKING THING about us, without - it seems - even LOOKING AROUND.  Do you often stereotype people based on characteristics that you have pulled out of your own ass?  CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'RE ANOTHER LESTER MADDOX, with a different target.

3.  I am always horrible.  I'm like a remorrah eel of horrible shit, and I always find some asshole to attach to.  You're it.  Smile.

Actually, you were a dick and the rest of us are giving you way more leeway than you've earned, while privately discussing the odds that you're an Aspie. That leeway isn't going to last much longer if you keep it up. Just an FYI.

Insulting people you don't know and making assumptions about people in a community you haven't explored are hardly ways to win friends, and you might be about to find out what it's like when are dicks back at you.

For the record, an apology is "I'm sorry I said that dickish thing", not "I'm sorry you took what I said as dickish". The former accepts responsibility, the latter displaces is.

Also, "I called you a stupid bitch, but I'm glad to see I was wrong" is not an apology. "I was wrong for calling you a stupid bitch; I've learned a lesson, I'm sorry, and I won't do it again" is an apology.

You've pulled this shit twice now, and haven't apologized either time. Just how many chances to be a dick do you think you deserve?

No, he meant this community specifically.  My hypothesis is supported by how he said he was glad he was wrong this time, which suggests that he was in fact talking about us.

Add to that the fact that he was in fact a huge fucking dick (see below quote) in the intro thread and NEVER apologized for saying it, it is really easy to see how he is being a twatwaffle.
