Three words: Apple glory-hole.

So, fine.  He has some redeeming qualities as a writer....

As far as I can tell, his non-fiction is mostly a re-stating of Timothy Leary's work.

Some of his books are definitely a layman's view of Leary's work , particularly Prometheus Rising. He spends a lot more time discussing the practical value and personal application; Leary's books are much more like reading a doctorate thesis on the theory. Some of his other stuff is pretty interesting

Quantum Psychology, for example is a book designed for group reading with exercises and discussion points at the end of each chapter. It's more like a primer on the application of perception modification (a lot could be considered 'jailbreaking' in PD.com vocabulary) and Leary's model. I always thought it would be fun to discuss online here.

He also wrote several books discussing the sexual revolution, women's rights etc. which were pretty good for the era they were written in.

I actually liked Cosmic Trigger a lot. But it kind of weirded me out the massive man boner he has in that book for Leary.

Glittersnatch would be a rather unfortunate condition, if a halfway decent troll name.

Well, it helped having someone write Leary's work after Leary was discredited.  It's pretty effective stuff, and is heavily used by Madison avenue & political consultants.

What I mean to say is that the stuff posted here recently isn't the kind of thing I'm usually into, and judging by responses, what I'm posing isn't generally taking a lot of interest either. That's ok; it just means I'm in a bit of a low posting stage.

I'm still poking the PUAs btw.

I came here first learning about Discordia, and actually gave up on it when I read the 'recommended Discordian works and saw someone getting flamed for recommending RAW. In the end I got back here after reading and enjoying the Intermittens stuff. One of my first posts was to declare I wanted to edit an edition. So projects like that are good.

As for gettin a project going? I don't know. I'm not honestly optimistic, but like I said, I think things are cyclical. This time next year there could be an influx of creative energy bubbling away.

I still post and will continue to. But right now there's not a lot of discussions that 'click'.

Some people here don't like RAW.

Some people do.

That's a problem, somehow?

In my opinion we need more organized trolling. Nothing strengthens communal bonds like crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you and hearing the lamentations of their women.

Plus Im still kind of pissed about how our PUA jihad sputtered out and died.

I tried 3 times, and nobody responded.  In fact, in the week after I posted, there were only like 2 more posts on the whole board that weren't one of us.

We just need a better target.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to troll a board when it has no members that aren't us. Might as well troll Church of Google.

Oh! Oh! Is it my turn to flounce?

Girl, "flounce" is my middle name.
When I make dessert, I add a cup of cake-flounce.
On fridays, I eat beer-battered filet of flouncer.
When I leave, a party, I say "It's time for me to make like a ball and flounce."
I go to a bar and they fix my drinks with 1.5 flounces of liquor.

:lulz: I like you.
