The gray area is that if someone joins us on a troll and then becomes mod/admin at the target board, they're exempt from the rule. So perhaps it's not "gray" so much as "stupid".

And yeah, the constant kneejerk responses to babs annoy the shit out of me, too, but claiming it's wrong because some kind of PD ethic blah blah is bullshit. The ethic here, for as long as I've been around, has been "harass the shit out of people you don't like". I'm not sure why Babs would get to be the exception just because SO MANY people can't stand him.

Well, you've been whining about it like you give a fuck, and you seemed to think I was advocating banning Babs based on it, so I thought I would clarify what I was actually saying.

I missed the part where I said you were advocating banning BH.

I did make a general statement about people who want to ban people or find excuses to ban people based on odious personality traits. This may fall under the "if you assumed I was talking about you then maybe I was" clause.

I also missed the part where I was whining, or the part where I gave a fuck whether or not people think the rules are stupid.

This is true, I'm not arguing against that. It seemed to me from the way you phrased your original post about that rule that you wanted BH to be banned, and the fact that he was "technically exempt" was the grounds for throwing it out. Sorry, my bad.

I don't really have a problem with BH on the grounds of his fucked-up turn ons. I am not going to go out of my way to insult him on those grounds. I will say that he DID say some fucked up things on TSC in regards to Freeky and Coyote, and I'm not okay with that. But on the other hand, I really don't know what I would have said or done were I in his position, I mean, that occurred after he was consistently being shat on by various people, and some of those same people were now invading and systematically dismantling a board that he helped build. I cannot honestly say that I wouldn't lash out at someone in that situation.

What he said to Khara, I don't recall seeing. I don't know anything about Khara, really, and I have no idea what she's been through. I won't say anything about that.

Now that TSC is gone, and the war's over, and there was much rejoicing, I see no reason why I should follow Babel Whore around just for the sake of shitting on him.  And hey, maybe he might actually have something interesting to say.

While I certainly don't think that there is some sort of PD code of ethics, I don't think that the position you are taking is reasonable, productive, or correct, Nigel. Not that I'll hold it against you. You are free to post in whatever manner you see fit in response to anyone else, and you are free to ignore the fact that certain things get on other people's nerves or other people take issue with your actions if you so choose, but hey, they have as much right to state that this sort of behavior is annoying, stupid, and unbecoming as you do. (And hey, this goes for Dok, Freeky, Coyote, Johny'x, Navkat, Babylon, ECH, and everyone else as much as you, Nigel, I'm not trying to single you out).
